As we make daily decisions, many people base them on initial reactions or gut feelings. However, powerful frameworks exist for making more effective decisions by analyzing available choices and their possible outcomes. Join us to learn how to make better decisions as well as understand why people sometimes make seemingly reasonable, yet irrational, decisions.

Mehran Sahami, ’92, MS ’93, PhD ’99, is a professor of computer science and the Robert and Ruth Halperin University Fellow in Undergraduate Education. His research interests include computer science education, machine learning, and information retrieval on the internet. An award-winning instructor, he enjoys teaching a variety of courses in computer science, including one of the most popular classes on campus with more than 600 students, CS106A: Programming Methodology.
