While the automobile has been around for well over 100 years, it seems to be undergoing dramatic change at the moment. The powertrain is becoming more and more electrified, driving tasks are becoming more and more automated, the vehicle itself is becoming more and more connected to other vehicles and common infrastructures -- and at the same time, carsharing programs are being promoted as a new form of mobility. Sven Beiker gave a talk at the SRI Cafe Scientifique, when he discussed the individual topics and how they all need to be seen together. A video recording is available online.
