Martin Fisher, 2016 Stanford Engineering Hero: Engineering a Path out of Poverty

February 7, 2017 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm
NVIDIA Auditorium - Huang Engineering Center

Join us on campus for a talk by Stanford Engineering Hero Dr. Martin Fisher, co-founder of KickStart International, an award-winning nonprofit social enterprise that develops appropriate technologies to improve lives and lift people out of poverty.

Fisher received a doctorate in theoretical and applied mechanics from Stanford in 1985, then won a Fulbright Fellowship to study in Kenya, which eventually informed his activities at Kickstart. In his talk he will discuss this very important work.

The Stanford Engineering Heroes program recognizes the achievements of Stanford engineers who have profoundly advanced the course of human, social and economic progress through engineering.

Lecture starts at 7:00pm. Reception starts at 8:00pm.
