The Stanford Solar Car Project students have spent more than a year designing, building and testing the new vehicle named Sundae. Unveiled on July 1, Sundae, is their newest entry for the 2017 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, an 1,800-mile race across the Australian Outback that starts in October. A futuristic car covered in solar cells and powered entirely by sunlight, Sundae will be shipped to Australia in September.
