Computer scientist Jennifer Widom named dean of Stanford School of Engineering

Jennifer Widom, professor of computer science and electrical engineering will be the new Stanford School of Engineering Dean. Widom, a distinguished researcher in data and information management, taught one of the Stanford's first MOOC's (massive open online courses) and most recently served as senior associate dean. She will assume her new post March 13.
