Student teams win grants to commercialize Stanford energy inventions

The TomKat Center for Sustainable Energy awarded seven student teams grants to move their developed technology into the real world. The TomKat Center grant provides financial support for prototype development, refinementof business plan and market trials. All student teams have a Stanford faculty adviser and projeccts range from sensors for monitoring pipelines, trains, planes (faculty adviser Associate Professor Boris ) to developing a solid-state electrolyte for the next generaltion of lithium-ion batteries (faculty adviser Associate Professor Yi Cui.)
