Researchers take a step toward novel quantum simulators

The new device, known as a quantum simulator, for now, only simulates the interactions between two quantum objects. The researchers argue in a paper published January 30 in Nature Physics that it could be scaled up relatively easily. If so, researchers could use it to simulate more complicated systems and begin answering some of the most tantalizing questions in physics.

Melissa Valentine: Understanding How Companies Best Incorporate Machine Learning

Stanford associate professor of Management Science and Engineering, Melissa Valentine, is a faculty affiliate at the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) and its first sabbatical scholar. Her two current primary areas of interest are how AI is impacting human expertise and how to use flash teams to innovate and solve problems.
