In a recent paper, Stanford Graduate School of Business and University of Toronto researchers laid out a theoretical framework for companies to consider when designing and delegating decision-making authority to AI systems. The model suggests that the decision to use AI at all--or how thoroughly to design and train an AI system--may depend not only on technical factors but on how the AI impacts the humans that interact with the system.
